ABC Hobart: Snapping Problems into Solutions

In case you missed it, our Head of Marketing, Julie Situ, was recently featured on ABC Hobart radio, chatting with host David Reilly ****about how our app is empowering communities across Australia and New Zealand. From Snapping watermelons in parking lots to abandoned trolleys and cracked pavements, Snap Send Solve is making it easier than ever to report and resolve local issues.

Here’s a quick recap of the conversation — and why it matters.

What’s the deal With Snap Send Solve?

David summed it up perfectly: “It’s giving them [locals] superpowers.”

Snap Send Solve connects everyday people to problem-solvers like councils, water authorities, and utility companies. All it takes is Snapping a photo, adding a description, and letting the app handle the rest. With over 850 active Solvers across Australia and New Zealand, this app takes the hassle out of reporting issues like broken streetlights, overgrown footpaths, and even smashed watermelons (yes, really).

Removing barriers to better communities

One key takeaway from the interview? Snap Send Solve eliminates the friction of reporting local issues.

“It’s really important,” David explained. “It takes some of the friction out of finding the number. You just connect straight into the right service.”

With 1.5 million Snaps sent last year in 2024 alone, the free app is proof that we care about their communities — and want to make a difference.

Why locals love it

From passionate community members to busy parents, Snap Send Solve makes it easy to act on issues, big or small. As Julie shared, she uses the app for everything from Snapping tripping hazards caused by tree roots to fixing broken streetlights when walking at night.

It’s not just users who are fans, either. Councils appreciate the app for streamlining reports and prioritising community concerns. “They care … they want to improve their communities,” Julie said of the local authorities.

Does it actually work?

If you’re wondering if all those Snaps actually lead to results, the answer is a resounding yes. Julie noted that 89% of rubbish-related Snaps result in action — a statistic that left David pleasantly surprised.

“It actually works?” he asked.
“It actually works,” Julie confirmed.
