Every Council area has different rules regarding the display of election advertising, some of the common requirements are:*
- Signage should not be on display for longer than 14 days after the election (or for three months from installation date, whichever is sooner)
- Signage should not to distract or obscure the view of motorists, cyclists pedestrians
- Election corflutes and posters must not be attached to vegetation or council infrastructure
- Signage should be attached securely to prevent injury, damage to property or environmental hazard
- Election signage should not be made from reflecting or illuminating materials
