Abandoned shopping trolleys are becoming an increasing problem across New South Wales.
"Already this year in Sydney and New South Wales, we've seen over 8,000 reports and we're only kind of a month and a half into the year." says our CEO Danny Gorog in an interview with Nine News Sydney.
The issue was recently featured on Nine News, in a segment hosted by Elizabeth Bryan, where Liverpool City Council explained that the current laws—giving retailers four days to collect abandoned trolleys—aren’t cutting it. Peter Harle, Deputy Mayor of Liverpool City Council, is pushing for tougher regulations to allow councils to act faster.

For now, councils are left to handle the clean-up. In Liverpool alone, a recent trolley blitz saw council workers round up 600 abandoned trolleys in just one morning. Retailers now have 28 days to collect them before they’re sent through the shredder.
