It's official: Abandoned cars are a national nuisance

Abandoned cars are unfortunately becoming a more common sight across Australia. While a recent Drive magazine article highlighted the wild case of a $300,000 classic Mercedes left to gather dust, the article also confirmed a much bigger community problem.

The article used data from our platform to show the sheer scale of the issue, reporting that 16,613 reports of abandoned vehicles were made through the app in 2025 alone.

That substantial figure highlights that thousands of abandoned vehicles are accumulating across Australia annually, impacting local neighbourhoods and consuming valuable public space.

Whether it’s a luxury car or a rusty ute, these vehicles are a major community issue that requires action.
